Our Massage

Here at Fruita Chiropractic and Massage we believe that massage is an essential part of acute and chronic conditions and maintenance. Massage is an amazing compliment to chiropractic care. Many people think it is just a extra luxury to feel good; but not only can it feel good, but also promote healing with your chiropractic care.

Acute conditions are the most common cases we see for massage here in our clinic. We work on many auto accidents and workman's comp. cases. These conditions often see neck complaints from whiplash or low back issues from lifting heavy objects incorrectly. Also, we see acute conditions that people wake up with. They went to bed just fine, but when they wake up they can barely move from the pain. Most of the time they cannot pinpoint what went wrong or when.

Chronic conditions that we commonly see are Fibromyalgia, MS, Scoliosis, muscle issues from older injuries (2+ years), and more. These conditions will most likely never go completely away and their muscle pain is managed with massage. Flare ups from these conditions and old injuries are often the need for patients to come in. Massage can help soothe the pain, give needed relief, and in some cases shorten the duration of the flare up.

Maintenance massage is our favorite. Acute conditions or chronic pain flare ups can be avoided in many cases by maintenance chiropractic and massage visits. Most time people think that their muscles are fine since pain is not present. When we massage we often have the comment during the massage that the patient did not realize that their muscles were so sore. We then explain that pain is usually the last sensation to present itself with an injury and usually the first sensation to leave. Muscles can be on the borderline of spasms and injury before you even feel the pain. Regular massage appointments with your chiropractic care can help keep issues at bay or lessen severity and/or shorten duration of flare ups.

Maintenance does not necessarily mean every week or every few days. Every person is different so that means your personal maintenance schedule could vary. People that have very physically demanding jobs may need maintenance massages every week or ten days to keep them feeling like they should. Other patients may need every couple of weeks to just a monthly massage to maintain.

If you are curious about what we do for massage, we encourage you to visit our Massage Section on our website. This will list everything we do and give you prices. If you would like to schedule please give us a call at 970-639-9730!
